PROGRAM IN SUSPENSION - effective May 13, 2022, additional students may not declare a French major or minor while the program is in suspension.
I. Major Program Requirements
Thirty-one (31) semester credits* of French, including:
Required French Courses (10 credits):

Elective French Courses (21 credits):
Twenty-one (21) additional semester credits* of French are required.
Three (3) of these credits may be taught in another department or program on French or Francophone topics, from the following list or by the program director’s approval. This list includes courses wherein a large portion or component of the syllabus deals with French or Francophone texts or other materials, or wherein the course directly contributes to at least two FFSP student learning outcomes.

*Note: Students coming in with transfer credits in French earned prior to attendance at Carroll may not count these credits towards their French major, except by approval of the program director.
II. Other Program Requirements
Study Abroad Requirement:
FFSP majors will complete a study abroad program or internship of at least three weeks in a French-speaking country. This requirement may be met by an alternative immersive experience as approved by the Program director.
