SP 320 Language & Healing

Cultural Diversity. This course opens the cycle of dedicated Spanish courses for the Spanish for Health Professions Minor. This course is specifically designed for students of healthcare professions and is focused on developing Spanish communication skills for future healthcare professionals. Thus, in this course we will study specific medical terminology used in health sciences, and we will hone advanced Spanish grammatical structures within different healthcare contexts. Additionally, in this course we will study different aspects of Hispanic cultures, focusing on complex healthcare challenges that Hispanic populations face in the United States; including the study of healthcare policies, customs, and idiosyncrasies that take place in Hispanic countries.
