THT 320 Corsetry

Arts & Letters-Fine Arts. This course is designed to explore the history of corsetry and to teach students how to build corsets from different time periods of fashion. Through reading, discussion, experimentation, and production work, students will gain knowledge and practical skills in corset building. Over the course of the semester, students will show mastery of the coursework by successfully building at least two period corsets. No sewing experience is required.
