Pre-Physician Assistant Pathway

DR. GRANT HOKIT, PRE-PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT ADVISOR
PROF. KELLY PARSLEY, PRE-PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT ADVISOR
DR. GERALD SCHAFER, PRE-PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT ADVISOR

The Pre-Physician Assistant Pathway prepares students to apply to graduate programs in the PA field. There is great diversity in the requirements for admission to Physician Assistant programs and students are advised to check with individual programs for specific information; generally, 1,000-2,000 hours of direct patient care is required, and the pathway curriculum is designed to fulfill the most common prerequisite coursework. Physician Assistants can choose a career from numerous medical specialty areas, and by choosing Carroll College students will be prepared to further their study and to serve patients with compassion, integrity, and knowledge. To learn more about the Pre-Physician Assistant program at Carroll College, visit: https://www.carroll.edu/pre-professional/pre-physician-assistant.

Please note that completion of the Pre-Physician Assistant Pathway does not guarantee that all graduate/professional admission prerequisites have been met, nor does it assure admission into a PA degree program. Carroll students pursuing this pathway need to work closely with the appropriate pre-professional advisor, as well as the admission office(s) of all prospective graduate/professional programs.
