Anthrozoology Minor

In the equine component, students explore the many ways the horse-human relationship can contribute to psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being. In addition to learning about the implications of the horse-human relationship throughout history and developing essential skills to work in the field of equine assisted services, they gain a strong foundation in safe and ethical horsemanship practices.

In the canine component, students learn canine training techniques working with regional shelter dogs, which also benefit from our program since we’re rehabilitating them from their lives at dog rescues. The education and training is specific to animal-assisted activities, search and rescue, or scent detection.
