Focus Area (9 credits minimum)

This requirement allows students to add a suite of courses in a relevant Focus Area, acquiring disciplinary depth within a strongly interdisciplinary degree. Courses for the focus area should be selected in consultation with an Environmental Program advisor. Common Focus Areas are in:  Wildlife and Landscape Ecology; Water Energy and Sustainability; and Environmental Health / Public Communication. Students may also select a Focus Area in a related minor in chemistry,  pre-law, environmental engineering, or creative writing. Each student will work with an Environmental Science academic advisor to design and propose a Focus Area, which must then be approved by the ES Program Director.

Other Program Requirements:

All Environmental Program majors must earn a grade of “C-” or better in all major courses and pass pre-requisite courses with a “C-” or better to advance to subsequent courses.
