Fire in Building

If the alarm has not already sounded in the case of a fire in the building, activate a fire alarm. If you are in a building when a fire alarm sounds, evacuate the building as quickly and safely as possible. Remember to dress for the weather conditions and to wear shoes before exiting the building. Lock your room door to protect the safety of your valuables. Students should evacuate to the assembly location for the building. Report your safe evacuation to your professor, supervisor or Building Action Team member. Stay out of the building until it is declared safe by emergency services or college staff. If the fire is in campus housing, please follow your building evacuation plan to help Residential Life & Housing staff account for residents. Emergency services or college staff will notify you of campus or community facilities that will be used for housing, food distribution and medical care. Updates will be posted on the college’s web site and through emergency messaging to emergency contact phone numbers.
