Natural Disaster
Call 911 and request emergency services (fire and police). Give the operator your name, address, phone number and report of the natural disaster. Remain calm. In case of an earthquake, remain in the building until the tremor has stopped. Evacuate the building to a safe area free from power lines and water line/sewer line breaks. Move away from buildings that may fall in subsequent tremors. Do not attempt to re-enter a campus building until it is declared safe by emergency services or college staff. If you live in campus housing, please follow your building evacuation plan to help Residential Life & Housing staff account for residents. Emergency services or college staff will notify you of campus or community facilities that will be used for housing, food distribution and medical care. Updates will be posted on the college’s web site and through emergency messaging to emergency contact phone numbers.
