Students will study the structure of a writing tutorial and its variations. Special attention is given to supporting writers at every stage of the writing process, from helping students to interpret assignments to improving surface correctness in final drafts. Students will work on practicing what they learn through role-playing in scenarios that involve increasing degrees of complexity the types of writing they will see in our center. Four writing projects mark students' progress in the course: learning about other writing centers, understanding rubrics, creating instructional materials, and a position paper on writing center theories.
