2019-2020 Student Handbook

Suicide Attempts

It is the policy of the college to treat all suicide attempts as serious. The college views any decision to attempt suicide as an indication of problems that are beyond the student’s immediate ability to cope. Upon notification of a Carroll College student attempting suicide the college will provide crisis intervention. The Associate Director of Counseling Services, the Associate Director of Residential Life & Housing, and the Dean of Students and Retention are to be notified immediately so that appropriate interventions may be coordinated. Continuation of the student’s enrollment following a suicide attempt will be assessed in accordance with this policy.
